2.24.1.4 Ensure 'Send Office Feedback' is set to Disabled

Information

This policy setting manages the Office Feedback Tool (a.k.a. Send a Smile). The Office Feedback Tool allows users to provide Microsoft feedback regarding their positive and negative experiences when using Office. The recommended state for this setting is: Disabled. Due to privacy concerns, users should not be able to send data to any third party unless approved by the System Administrators.

Solution

To implement the recommended configuration state, set the following Group Policy setting to Disabled. User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Microsoft Office 2016\Privacy\Trust Center\Send Office Feedback Impact: If you disable this policy setting, the Office Feedback Tool will be turned off. Users will not see the Smile button in any of the Office applications in which the tool is available.
