Description

The remote Oracle Linux 5 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the ELSA-2012-11741 advisory.

 - The rio_ioctl function in drivers/net/ethernet/dlink/dl2k.c in the Linux kernel before 3.3.7 does not restrict access to the SIOCSMIIREG command, which allows local users to write data to an Ethernet adapter via an ioctl call. (CVE-2012-2313)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

This plugin has been deprecated as it is a duplicate of oraclelinux_ELSA-2012-1174-1.nasl (plugin ID 68598).
