This plugin has been deprecated.

Description

The remote Oracle Linux 5 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the ELSA-2013-13481 advisory.

 - The __request_module function in kernel/kmod.c in the Linux kernel before 3.4 does not set a certain killable attribute, which allows local users to cause a denial of service (memory consumption) via a crafted application. (CVE-2012-4398)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

This plugin has been deprecated as it is a duplicate of oraclelinux_ELSA-2013-1348-1.nasl (plugin ID 70286).
