Synopsis

The remote Red Hat 8 host is affected by multiple vulnerabilities that will not be patched.

Description

The remote Redhat Enterprise Linux 8 host has one or more packages installed that are affected by multiple vulnerabilities that have been acknowledged by the vendor but will not be patched.

 - opencv: out-of-bounds read in function cv::predictOrdered<cv::HaarEvaluator> in modules/objdetect/src/cascadedetect.hpp leads to dos (CVE-2019-14491)

 - opencv: out-of-bounds read in DIS optflow algorithm when dealing with small images (CVE-2019-19624)

 - In OpenCV 3.3.1, a heap-based buffer overflow happens in cv::Jpeg2KDecoder::readComponent8u in modules/imgcodecs/src/grfmt_jpeg2000.cpp when parsing a crafted image file. (CVE-2018-5268)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied on the package manager's report that the package is installed.

Solution

The vendor has acknowledged the vulnerabilities but no solution has been provided. Refer to the vendor for remediation guidance.
