Synopsis

The remote Red Hat 8 host is affected by multiple vulnerabilities that will not be patched.

Description

The remote Redhat Enterprise Linux 8 host has one or more packages installed that are affected by multiple vulnerabilities that have been acknowledged by the vendor but will not be patched.

 - containernetworking-cni: Arbitrary path injection via type field in CNI configuration (CVE-2021-20206)

 - golang.org/x/text/language in golang.org/x/text before 0.3.7 can panic with an out-of-bounds read during BCP 47 language tag parsing. Index calculation is mishandled. If parsing untrusted user input, this can be used as a vector for a denial-of-service attack. (CVE-2021-38561)

 - A vulnerability was found in buildah. Incorrect following of symlinks while reading .containerignore and .dockerignore results in information disclosure. (CVE-2022-4122)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied on the package manager's report that the package is installed.

Solution

The vendor has acknowledged the vulnerabilities but no solution has been provided. Refer to the vendor for remediation guidance.
