Tenable Releases Stand-alone Version of its Enterprise-Class Log and Event Management Solution

January 4, 2011 · Columbia, MD

Tenable releases stand-alone log and event management solution for user tracking, anomaly detection, file integrity monitoring, historic log processing and monitoring of executable file transfers

Tenable Network Security, Inc., the leader in Unified Security Monitoring and creator of the award-winning Nessus vulnerability scanner, today announced the release of Tenable’s Log Correlation Engine (LCE) 3.6 for general availability. LCE 3.6 now includes its own web-based management interface for analysis and reporting. While LCE 3.6 can still be managed by Tenable’s SecurityCenter, it does not require a SecurityCenter deployment as previous versions had, which is an advantage for customers who are only interested in log analysis. LCE 3.6 also includes multiple performance enhancements, including an in-memory caching system for high-speed queries, a large reduction in disk space usage and higher log processing throughput.

“With this release of the Log Correlation Engine, Tenable provides a stand-alone version of its powerful log and event management solution with the capability to monitor files for changes, process historic logs and provide automatic notification of network attacks and events that impact compliance which is in high demand by CIOs for greater insight on their networks,” says Ron Gula, CEO of Tenable Network Security.

This stand-alone version of Tenable’s Log Correlation Engine can be easily added to Tenable’s SecurityCenter solution for those customers who want to include full-stack vulnerability and configuration management in combination with log and event monitoring in one fully integrated product offering. Combining real-time system and event analysis into one system increases an organization’s ability to react to threats as well as report on Government Regulatory and Compliance (GRC) issues.
