1.1.1.2.3.24 Set 'Create a pagefile' to 'Administrators'

Information

This policy setting allows users to change the size of the pagefile. By making the pagefile extremely large or extremely small, an attacker could easily affect the performance of a compromised computer. When configuring a user right in the SCM enter a comma delimited list of accounts. Accounts can be either local or located in Active Directory, they can be groups, users, or computers. Users who can change the page file size could make it extremely small or move the file to a highly fragmented storage volume, which could cause reduced computer performance.

Solution

To implement the recommended configuration state, set the following Group Policy setting to Administrators.

Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies\User Rights Assignment\Create a pagefile

Impact- None. This is the default configuration.
