1.1.35 (L1) Ensure 'Disable Telemetry' is set to 'Enabled'

Information

Firefox by default sends information about Firefox to Mozilla servers. This data can include, but is not limited to IP address, system specifications, browsing history, bookmarks, and open tabs.

The recommended state for this setting is: Enabled

Sending data to Firefox could lead to sensitive data being exposed.

Solution

To establish the recommended configuration via GP, set the following UI path to Enabled :

Computer Configuration\Policies\Administrative Templates\Mozilla\Firefox\Disable Telemetry

Note: This Group Policy path does not exist by default. An additional Group Policy template ( firefox.admx/adml ) is required - it is available to download at this

link

.

Impact:

The browser will not send system information back to Firefox.
