1.1.17.2 (L1) Ensure 'Do not allow preferences to be changed' is set to 'Enabled'

Information

This policy setting configures if the Firefox pop-up blocker settings can be changed by the user.

The recommended state for this setting is: Enabled

By enabling the pop-up blocker, all pop-ups will be blocked which will guard a user against malicious attacks launched using a pop-up window.

Solution

To establish the recommended configuration via GP, set the following UI path to Enabled :

Computer Configuration\Policies\Administrative Templates\Mozilla\Firefox\Popups\Do not allow preferences to be changed

Note: This Group Policy path does not exist by default. An additional Group Policy template ( firefox.admx/adml ) is required - it is available to download at this

link

.

Impact:

None - this is the default behavior.
