1.1.22.2 (L1) Ensure 'Do not allow tracking protection preferences to be changed' is set to 'Enabled'

Information

This policy setting determines if tracking protection preferences can be changed by the user.

The recommended state for this setting is: Enabled

Allowing a user to change tracking preferences could lead to malicious activity on the system.

Solution

To establish the recommended configuration via GP, set the following UI path to Enabled :

Computer Configuration\Policies\Administrative Templates\Mozilla\Firefox\Tracking Protection\Do not allow tracking protection preferences to be changed

Note: This Group Policy path does not exist by default. An additional Group Policy template ( firefox.admx/adml ) is required - it is available to download at this

Impact:

Tracking preferences cannot be changed by the user.
