1.1.15.3.1 (L1) Ensure 'Block new requests asking to access location' is set to 'Enabled'

Information

This policy setting determines whether Firefox will provide geographic location information to websites.

The recommended state for this setting is: Enabled

Geo-location services can expose private information to remote websites.

Solution

To establish the recommended configuration via GP, set the following UI path to Enabled :

Computer Configuration\Policies\Administrative Templates\Mozilla\Firefox\Permissions\Location\Block new requests asking to access location

Note: This Group Policy path does not exist by default. An additional Group Policy template ( firefox.admx/adml ) is required - it is available to download at this

Impact:

Geo-locations services will be unavailable. Sites that use geo-location (Google Maps tec.) will not be able to attain information to pinpoint location.
