Information

Unauthorized users must not be allowed to access or modify the /etc/syslog.conf file.

Solution

Change the permissions of the syslog or rsyslog configuration file.
# chmod 0640 /etc/syslog.conf
Or:
# chmod 0640 /etc/rsyslog.conf
