The publisher handler for mod_python 2.7.8 and earlier allows remote attackers to obtain access to restricted objects via a crafted URL.

This update fixes an information leak in mod_python when using the publisher handle. Due to the bug it is possible to get access to published objects remotely without permission. (CVE-2005-0088)

Graham Dumpleton discovered an information disclosure in the 'publisher' handle of mod_python. By requesting a carefully crafted URL for a published module page, anybody can obtain extra information about internal variables, objects, and other information which is not intended to be visible.

The remote Redhat Enterprise Linux 4 host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the RHSA-2005:100 advisory.
