Stack-based buffer overflow in the parse_device function in archive_read_support_format_mtree.c in libarchive before 3.2.1 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted mtree file.

An update of the libarchive package has been released.

The remote host is affected by the vulnerability described in GLSA-201701-03 (libarchive: Multiple vulnerabilities)

  Impact :

    A remote attacker could entice a user to open a specially crafted       archive file possibly resulting in the execution of arbitrary code with       the privileges of the process or a Denial of Service condition.
