CVE-2019-16928, a critical heap-based buffer overflow vulnerability in Exim email servers, could allow remote attackers to crash Exim or potentially execute arbitrary code.

CVE-2019-16928: Critical Buffer Overflow Flaw in Exim is Remotely Exploitable

Exim 4.92 through 4.92.2 allows remote code execution, a different vulnerability than CVE-2019-15846. There is a heap-based buffer overflow in string_vformat in string.c involving a long EHLO command.

The max_rcpt transport     option still applies (and at the current default, will     override the new feature). The check is done for either     cause of synch, and forces a fast-retry of all 452'd     recipients using a new MAIL FROM on the same connection.
    The new facility is not tunable at this time.

  Impact :

    A remote attacker, able to connect to a vulnerable Exim instance, could       possibly execute arbitrary code with the privileges of the process or       cause a Denial of Service condition.
  Workaround :

    There is no known workaround at this time.
