Microsoft Office Remote Code Execution Vulnerability

The version of Microsoft Office for Mac installed on the remote host is affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the december-10-2024 advisory.

  - Microsoft Excel Remote Code Execution Vulnerability (CVE-2024-49069)

  - Microsoft Office Remote Code Execution Vulnerability (CVE-2024-49065)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

The Microsoft SharePoint Server 2019 installation on the remote host is missing security updates. It is, therefore, affected by a privilage elevation vulnerability.

The Microsoft Office Products are missing security updates. They are, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities:

  - An elevation of privilege vulnerability. An attacker can exploit this to gain elevated privileges.
    (CVE-2024-43600, CVE-2024-49059)

  - A remote code execution vulnerability. An attacker can exploit this to bypass authentication and execute     unauthorized arbitrary commands. (CVE-2024-49065)
