high Nessus Plugin ID 100100

Synopsis

The remote Ubuntu host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote Ubuntu 14.04 LTS host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the USN-3281-1 advisory.

Pierre Ernst discovered that Apache Fop incorrectly handled XML external entities. A remote attacker could possibly use this issue to obtain sensitive files from the filesystem, or cause a denial of service.

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Ubuntu security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Update the affected fop and / or libfop-java packages.
