Synopsis

The remote Ubuntu host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote Ubuntu 14.04 LTS / 16.04 LTS host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the USN-3383-1 advisory.

Aleksandar Nikolic discovered a stack based buffer overflow when handling chunked encoding. An attacker could use this to cause a denial of service or possibly execute arbitrary code.

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Ubuntu security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages.
