Synopsis

The Adobe Digital Editions instance installed on the remote host is affected by multiple vulnerabilities.

Description

The version of Adobe Digital Editions installed on the remote Windows host is prior to 4.5.7. It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the APSB17-39 advisory.

- An issue was discovered in Adobe Digital Editions 4.5.6 and earlier versions. Adobe Digital Editions parses crafted XML files in an unsafe manner, which could lead to sensitive information disclosure.

- An issue was discovered in Adobe Digital Editions 4.5.6 and earlier versions. An exploitable memory corruption vulnerability exists, which could lead to disclosure of memory addresses. (CVE-2017-11297, CVE-2017-11298, CVE-2017-11299, CVE-2017-11300, CVE-2017-11301)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Adobe Digital Editions version 4.5.7 or later.
