high Nessus Plugin ID 109030

Synopsis

The Adobe InDesign instance installed on the remote host is affected by multiple vulnerabilities.

Description

The version of Adobe InDesign installed on the remote Windows host is prior to 13.1.0. It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the APSB18-11 advisory.

- Adobe InDesign versions 13.0 and below have an exploitable Memory corruption vulnerability. Successful exploitation could lead to arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user. (CVE-2018-4928)

- Adobe InDesign versions 13.0 and below have an exploitable Untrusted Search Path vulnerability. Successful exploitation could lead to local privilege escalation. (CVE-2018-4927)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Adobe InDesign version 13.1.0 or later.
