Synopsis

The remote Red Hat host is missing a security update for librelp.

Description

The remote Redhat Enterprise Linux 7 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the RHSA-2018:1223 advisory.

- librelp: Stack-based buffer overflow in relpTcpChkPeerName function in src/tcp.c (CVE-2018-1000140)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the RHEL librelp package based on the guidance in RHSA-2018:1223.
