Synopsis

The remote Debian host is missing a security-related update.

Description

It was discovered that Zookeeper, a service for maintaining configuration information, enforced no authentication/authorisation when a server attempts to join a Zookeeper quorum.

Solution

Upgrade the zookeeper packages.

For the oldstable distribution (jessie), this problem has been fixed in version 3.4.9-3+deb8u1.

For the stable distribution (stretch), this problem has been fixed in version 3.4.9-3+deb9u1.
