Synopsis

The remote Red Hat host is missing one or more security updates for qemu-kvm.

Description

The remote Redhat Enterprise Linux 7 host has packages installed that are affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the RHSA-2018:2462 advisory.

 - QEMU: i386: multiboot OOB access while loading kernel image (CVE-2018-7550)

 - QEMU: slirp: heap buffer overflow while reassembling fragmented datagrams (CVE-2018-11806)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the RHEL qemu-kvm package based on the guidance in RHSA-2018:2462.
