Synopsis

The remote Debian host is missing a security-related update.

Description

Multiple vulnerabilities have been discovered in Wireshark, a network protocol analyzer which could result in denial of service or the execution of arbitrary code.

Solution

Upgrade the wireshark packages.

For the stable distribution (stretch), these problems have been fixed in version 2.6.3-1~deb9u1. This update upgrades Wireshark to the 2.6.x release branch, future security upgrades will be based on this series.
