* kernel: Use-after-free in the vmacache_flush_all function resulting in a possible privilege escalation (CVE-2018-17182)

* kernel: Privilege escalation on arm64 via KVM hypervisor (CVE-2018-18021)

For more details about the security issue(s), including the impact, a CVSS score, and other related information, refer to the CVE page(s) listed in the References section.

Bug Fix(es):

These updated kernel packages include also numerous bug fixes. Space precludes documenting all of the bug fixes in this advisory. See the descriptions in the related Knowledge Article:
https://access.redhat.com/articles/3714391

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Red Hat Enterprise Linux security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the RHEL kernel-alt package based on the guidance in RHSA-2018:3656.
