Description

The remote NewStart CGSL host, running version CORE 5.04 / MAIN 5.04, has tomcat packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability:

- An improper handing of overflow in the UTF-8 decoder with supplementary characters can lead to an infinite loop in the decoder causing a Denial of Service.
Versions Affected: Apache Tomcat 9.0.0.M9 to 9.0.7, 8.5.0 to 8.5.30, 8.0.0.RC1 to 8.0.51, and 7.0.28 to 7.0.86. (CVE-2018-1336)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade the vulnerable CGSL tomcat packages. Note that updated packages may not be available yet. Please contact ZTE for more information.
