The remote machine is affected by a vulnerability.

Description

The remote NewStart CGSL host, running version CORE 5.04 / MAIN 5.04, has librelp packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability:

- A stack-based buffer overflow was found in the way librelp parses X.509 certificates. By connecting or accepting connections from a remote peer, an attacker may use a specially crafted X.509 certificate to exploit this flaw and potentially execute arbitrary code.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade the vulnerable CGSL librelp packages. Note that updated packages may not be available yet. Please contact ZTE for more information.
