Synopsis

The remote Red Hat host is missing one or more security updates for kernel.

Description

The remote Redhat Enterprise Linux 7 host has packages installed that are affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the RHSA-2019:2600 advisory.

 - kernel: hw: Spectre SWAPGS gadget vulnerability (CVE-2019-1125)

 - kernel: brcmfmac heap buffer overflow in brcmf_wowl_nd_results (CVE-2019-9500)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the RHEL kernel package based on the guidance in RHSA-2019:2600.
