EulerOS 2.0 SP2 : openslp (EulerOS-SA-2019-2394)

critical Nessus Plugin ID 131886

Synopsis

The remote EulerOS host is missing multiple security updates.

Description

According to the versions of the openslp packages installed, the EulerOS installation on the remote host is affected by the following vulnerabilities :

- Buffer overflow in the SLPFoldWhiteSpace function in common/slp_compare.c in OpenSLP 2.0 allows remote attackers to have unspecified impact via a crafted string.(CVE-2016-7567)

- The _xrealloc function in xlsp_xmalloc.c in OpenSLP 2.0.0 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (NULL pointer dereference and crash) via a large number of crafted packets, which triggers a memory allocation failure.(CVE-2016-4912)

Note that Tenable Network Security has extracted the preceding description block directly from the EulerOS security advisory. Tenable has attempted to automatically clean and format it as much as possible without introducing additional issues.

Solution

Update the affected openslp packages.
