Synopsis

The remote EulerOS host is missing a security update.

Description

According to the version of the bzip2 packages installed, the EulerOS installation on the remote host is affected by the following vulnerability :

 - Use-after-free vulnerability in bzip2recover in bzip2 1.0.6 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) via a crafted bzip2 file, related to block ends set to before the start of the block.(CVE-2016-3189)

Note that Tenable Network Security has extracted the preceding description block directly from the EulerOS security advisory. Tenable has attempted to automatically clean and format it as much as possible without introducing additional issues.

Solution

Update the affected bzip2 package.
