Debian DLA-2137-1 : sleuthkit security update

critical Nessus Plugin ID 134429

Synopsis

The remote Debian host is missing a security update.

Description

In version 4.8.0 and earlier of The Sleuth Kit (TSK), there is a stack buffer overflow vulnerability in the YAFFS file timestamp parsing logic in yaffsfs_istat() in fs/yaffs.c.

For Debian 8 'Jessie', this problem has been fixed in version 4.1.3-4+deb8u2.

We recommend that you upgrade your sleuthkit packages.

NOTE: Tenable Network Security has extracted the preceding description block directly from the DLA security advisory. Tenable has attempted to automatically clean and format it as much as possible without introducing additional issues.

Solution

Upgrade the affected libtsk-dev, libtsk10, and sleuthkit packages.
