Apple Xcode < 10.2 Code Execution (macOS)

high Nessus Plugin ID 135296

Synopsis

An IDE application installed on the remote macOS or Mac OS X host is affected by a vulnerability.

Description

The version of Apple Xcode installed on the remote macOS or Mac OS X host is prior to 10.2. It is, therefore, affected by a memory corruption issue due to improper input checking. An unauthenticated, remote attacker can exploit this to execute arbitrary code with kernel privileges.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Apple Xcode version 10.2 or later.
