Synopsis

The remote device is missing a vendor-supplied security patch

Description

According to its self-reported version, Cisco IOS XE Software is affected by a command injection vulnerability due to insufficient input validation of boot options. An authenticated, local attacker (with root privileges) can exploit this, by modifying device boot options, to execute arbitrary commands on an affected device. Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version

Upgrade to the relevant fixed version referenced in Cisco bug ID CSCvq90824
