Synopsis

The remote device is missing a vendor-supplied security patch

Description

According to its self-reported version, Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) Software is affected by a vulnerability in the detection engine due to improper filtering of Ethernet frames. An unauthenticated, adjacent attacker can exploit this, by sending crafted packets to the management interface of an affected device, in order to bypass the Layer 2 (L2) filters and send data directly to the kernel.
