PHP 7.2.x < 7.2.32 / 7.3.x < 7.3.20 / 7.4.x < 7.4.8 Information Disclosure

high Nessus Plugin ID 138593

Synopsis

The version of PHP running on the remote web server is affected by an information disclosure vulnerability

Description

According to its self-reported version number, the version of PHP running on the remote Windows web server is 7.2.x prior to 7.2.32, 7.3.x prior to 7.3.20 or 7.4.x prior to 7.4.8. It is, therefore, affected by an information disclosure vulnerability. The libcurl library can be tricked to prepend a part of the password to the host name before it resolves it, potentially leaking the partial password over the network and to the DNS server(s).

Solution

Upgrade to PHP 7.2.32, 7.3.20, 7.4.8 or later.
