Synopsis

MySQL Enterprise Monitor running on the remote host is affected by a denial of service vulnerability

Description

A denial of service (DoS) vulnerability exists in MySQL Enterprise Monitor due to an HTTP/2 connection window exhaustion on write. Therefore, An unauthenticated, remote attacker can exploit this issue, by not sending WINDOW_UPDATE messages, to cause the system to stop responding.

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to MySQL Enterprise Monitor version 8.0.18 or later as referenced in the Oracle security advisory.
