IBM WebSphere Application Server 8.5.x < 8.5.5.18 Server-side Request Forgery (6209099)

medium Nessus Plugin ID 139065

Synopsis

The remote web application server is affected by a server-side request forgery vulnerability.

Description

The IBM WebSphere Application Server running on the remote host is version 8.5.x prior to 8.5.5.18. It is, therefore, affected by a server-side request forgery vulnerability. An authenticated, remote attacker can exploit this, by sending a specially crafted request, to obtain sensitive data.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to IBM WebSphere Application Server 8.5.5.18, or later. Alternatively, upgrade to the minimal fix pack level required by the interim fix and then apply Interim Fix PH23638.
