Synopsis

The remote Amazon Linux 2 host is missing a security update.

Description

The version of tested product installed on the remote host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the ALAS2-2020-1492 advisory.

- ldebug.c in Lua 5.4.0 allows a negation overflow and segmentation fault in getlocal and setlocal, as demonstrated by getlocal(3,2^31). (CVE-2020-24370)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Run 'yum update lua53' to update your system.
