Synopsis

The remote Ubuntu host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote Ubuntu 18.04 LTS host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the USN-4565-1 advisory.

It was discovered that OpenConnect has a buffer overflow when a malicious server uses HTTP chunked encoding with crafted chunk sizes. An attacker could use it to provoke a denial of service (crash).

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Ubuntu security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected libopenconnect-dev, libopenconnect5 and / or openconnect packages.
