Synopsis

A message queuing service installed on the remote host is affected by multiple denial of service vulnerabilities.

Description

According to its self-reported version, the IBM WebSphere MQ server installed on the remote Windows host is version 8.0.0.x prior to 8.0.0.9, 9.0.x prior to 9.0.5 or 9.0.0.x prior to 9.0.0.3. It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities:

- A denial of service vulnerability. An authenticated,remote attacker can exploit this issue to cause the service to stop responding. (CVE-2017-1786)

- When configured to use a PAM module for authentication, Websphere MQ could allow a user to cause a deadlock in the IBM MQ PAM code which could result in a denial of service.
