Synopsis

The remote Ubuntu host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The remote Ubuntu 16.04 LTS host has a package installed that is affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the USN-4600-1 advisory.

It was discovered that Netty had HTTP request smuggling vulnerabilities. A remote attacker could used it to extract sensitive information. (CVE-2019-16869, CVE-2019-20444, CVE-2019-20445, CVE-2020-7238)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected libnetty-3.9-java package.
