Synopsis

The Adobe Dreamweaver instance installed on the remote host is affected by a privilege escalation vulnerability.

Description

The version of Adobe Dreamweaver installed on the remote Windows host is prior to 21.0. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the APSB20-55 advisory.

- Dreamweaver version 20.2 (and earlier) is affected by an uncontrolled search path element vulnerability that could lead to privilege escalation. Successful exploitation could result in a local user with permissions to write to the file system running system commands with administrator privileges.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Adobe Dreamweaver version 21.0 or later.
