Synopsis

The remote Amazon Linux 2 host is missing a security update.

Description

The version of tested product installed on the remote host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the ALAS2-2020-1529 advisory.

 - An issue was discovered in libsndfile 1.0.28. There is a buffer over-read in the function i2alaw_array in alaw.c that will lead to a denial of service. (CVE-2018-19662)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Run 'yum update libsndfile' to update your system.
