Synopsis

The remote Amazon Linux 2 host is missing a security update.

Description

The version of tested product installed on the remote host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the ALAS2-2020-1560 advisory.

 - In Oniguruma 6.9.5_rev1, an attacker able to supply a regular expression for compilation may be able to overflow a buffer by one byte in concat_opt_exact_str in src/regcomp.c . (CVE-2020-26159)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Run 'yum update oniguruma' to update your system.
