Description

The remote NewStart CGSL host, running version CORE 5.05 / MAIN 5.05, has krb5 packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability:

- A Reachable Assertion issue was discovered in the KDC in MIT Kerberos 5 (aka krb5) before 1.17. If an attacker can obtain a krbtgt ticket using an older encryption type (single-DES, triple-DES, or RC4), the attacker can crash the KDC by making an S4U2Self request. (CVE-2018-20217)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade the vulnerable CGSL krb5 packages. Note that updated packages may not be available yet. Please contact ZTE for more information.
