Description

The remote NewStart CGSL host, running version CORE 5.04 / MAIN 5.04, has evince packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability:

- The tiff_document_render() and tiff_document_get_thumbnail() functions in the TIFF document backend in GNOME Evince through 3.32.0 did not handle errors from TIFFReadRGBAImageOriented(), leading to uninitialized memory use when processing certain TIFF image files. (CVE-2019-11459)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade the vulnerable CGSL evince packages. Note that updated packages may not be available yet. Please contact ZTE for more information.
