Fedora 32 : monitorix (2021-fc24737ebc)

critical Nessus Plugin ID 146241

Language:

Synopsis

The remote Fedora host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The remote Fedora 32 host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the FEDORA-2021-fc24737ebc advisory.

- Monitorix 3.13.0 allows remote attackers to bypass Basic Authentication in a default installation (i.e., an installation without a hosts_deny option). This issue occurred because a new access-control feature was introduced without considering that some exiting installations became unsafe, upon an update to 3.13.0, unless the new feature was immediately configured. (CVE-2021-3325)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected monitorix package.
