Synopsis

The remote SUSE host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote SUSE Linux SLED15 / SLES15 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the SUSE-SU-2021:1917-1 advisory.

 - A flaw was found in libxml2. Exponential entity expansion attack its possible bypassing all existing protection mechanisms and leading to denial of service. (CVE-2021-3541)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages.
