Synopsis

A web browser installed on the remote macOS or Mac OS X host is affected by a vulnerability.

Description

The version of Firefox installed on the remote macOS or Mac OS X host is prior to 89.0.1. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the mfsa2021-27 advisory.

 - When drawing text onto a canvas with WebRender disabled, an out of bounds read could occur. This bug only affects Firefox on Windows. Other operating systems are unaffected. (CVE-2021-29968)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Mozilla Firefox version 89.0.1 or later.
