Description

The remote SUSE Linux SLED15 / SLES15 host has packages installed that are affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the SUSE-SU-2021:2196-1 advisory.

- ldebug.c in Lua 5.4.0 allows a negation overflow and segmentation fault in getlocal and setlocal, as demonstrated by getlocal(3,2^31). (CVE-2020-24370)

- lgc.c in Lua 5.4.0 mishandles the interaction between barriers and the sweep phase, leading to a memory access violation involving collectgarbage. (CVE-2020-24371)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected liblua5_3-5, liblua5_3-5-32bit, lua53 and / or lua53-devel packages.
